A boss key is a hotkey that instantly hides what's on your screen — a tradition as old as 1980s DOS games. The problem in 2026: most classic boss key software was written for Windows 7, and on Windows 11's redesigned notification area those tools either died or do half the job. What a real boss key has to hide
Alt+Tab isn't hiding. For an app to be truly invisible, four things must go at once:
- The window — obviously.
- The taskbar button — the classic giveaway. Someone glances at the taskbar and sees the game icon: busted.
