WeChat & QQ aus Taskleiste und Tray ausblenden
Want WeChat or QQ off your taskbar and out of the notification area without quitting (and missing messages)? Windows' own options each hide only part of it. This page lays out what each one actually hides, then how gohide hides the window, the taskbar button and the tray icon together with one hotkey — and brings them back exactly as they were.
What the built-in options hide

An icon in the ^ overflow is one click from being seen, and a taskbar button gives it away at
a glance.
Hide WeChat and QQ with one hotkey
- Download gohide. Its main window lists running apps — including tray-only ones like WeChat and QQ.
- Tick WeChat (process
Weixin) and QQ. The free edition manages up to 3 apps. - Press Ctrl+Alt+H: window, taskbar button and tray icon disappear together.
- Press Ctrl+Alt+Shift+H: everything is back, same position and size.
Right-click an app to give it a hotkey of its own that hides or shows just that app.
When a message arrives while it's hidden
- It won't pop up: "Keep an app hidden when it opens a new window" (Settings → General — free, on by default) hides any window a hidden app opens later.
- It won't ding: right-click the app → Options… → "Mute this app" (free) and the hidden app is silent; sound comes back when you restore it.
- Messages still arrive; they're just out of sight until you restore.
Tested
WeChat 4.x runs as several processes; gohide treats its windows and tray icon as one app. QQ (QQNT) has been tested hiding both window and tray icon on Windows 11 and Windows 10. If a protected tray icon can't be removed, gohide says so instead of pretending — see Troubleshooting.
